Marriage is a very big step that you take in life. Make the decision not only with your heart, but also with your minds as well.
To prepare getting ready for married life, there are seminars, workshops, and books to help you prepare for marriage.
Workshops and seminars for couples
There are two weekend workshops for those wanting to settle down. The first one ay ang Discovery Weekend, and the other one is the Cana Marriage Preparation ng CEFAM o Center for Family Ministries sa Ateneo.
These seminars will teach you the following:
1. Relationship assessment.
3. Setting expectations. Sa mga seminars na ito, couples will also learn how to manage their relationship. We need to take time to learn kung ano ang dapat i-expect sa relasyon.
Seminars for individuals
There are seminars like RCW’s Reparenting the Child from Within seminar for individuals who want to be personally prepared for a lifetime relationship.
These seminars will teach us to manage our emotional baggage from childhood.
Additional reading
There are many excellent books that you can read to prepare yourself for marriage. I recommend that you read our book, “Thinking of Marriage” (Don Bosco Press 2011). With this book, you will realize that there is so much to learn that will make us happier
in our relationship.
Masaya ang maging in-love parati. It inspires us to live our lives fully with the help of our partners. We all want to have a great marriage, kaya’t ipaghanda nang maigi ang sarili at pagsasama for this lifetime commitment.
