Karamihan sa atin ay alam lamang ang 20% senior citizen discount sa mga bilihin. Ang hindi natin alam ay mayroon ding 5% senior citizen discount para sa water at electricity bills.
Ang utility discount ay nakasaad sa RA 9994 o ang tinatawag din “Expanded Senior Citizens Act of 2003”.
This grants a minimum of a five percent (5%) discount relative to the monthly utilization of water and electricity by households with senior citizens, kung:
1. Ang metro ay nakapangalan sa senior citizen, for at least one year
2. Ang monthly consumption ng kuryente ay hindi hihigit sa one hundred kilowatt hours (100 kWh)
3. Ang monthly consumption naman ng tubig ay hindi hihigit sa thirty cubic meters (30 m3 )
Dapat din po alalahanin na ang discount ay granted per household kahit ilan pa ang seniors na nakatira.

Sa pag-apply dalhin ang sumusunod na requirements:
1. Proof of age and citizenship
2. Proof of billing
3. Proof of residence
Kung hindi makakapunta ang senior citizen, pwede rin siya magpadala ng representative. Siguraduhin lamang na mayroong letter of authorization duly signed or thumbmarked by the senior citizen, at mayroong dalang valid ID ang representative.
Ang pag-proseso ng application ay aabutin ng fifteen (15) days. Customers will be informed in writing of the decision on their application. If application is approved, the 5% discount will take effect on the next billing period.
Taon-taon ang pag-renew ng application kung kaya’t siguraduhing makapagrenew bago mag-expire ang one-year period.
