Trip: BluRoze Farms: Bonding with family, communing with nature

Our family has always made it a point to visit different provinces as a way of having fun, while also educating the children.  Mas madali kasi nilang natatandaan ang mga napag-aaralan sa Sibika kapag napuntahan na nila yung mga lugar at probinsiya.

One of their favorite places is BluRoze Farms, in Purok 6, Brgy. Lodlod, Lipa City, Batangas.  It’s perfect for family bonding, and the good news is, it’s just less than two hours away from Manila.

The place is serene, puwede for retreats and self-reflection.  Pero sa laki ng lugar, may hiwalay ding camping area, swimming pool, playground, zoo at iba pang attractions kaya hindi boring sa mga bata. A wild life and nature park, it is also very educational as it has interesting animals – snakes, goats, birds, monkeys, eagles, alligators, ducks, chickens and many more.

There’s a day tour (P120/head), but you can also spend the night in their cottages.  Walang tigil ang kakukulit ng mga bulilit on what the names of the cottages mean — salagubang, salaguinto, alitaptap, kagaykay, bubuyog, at iba pa.  Very affordable din as room/cottage prices range from P2,800/night (Team Room which is good for 10 persons) to P10,000/night (Private Villa for 20 persons or more).

Added bonus ding na-meet namin yung super bait owners na sina Engr. Benedicto and Mrs. Zenaida Umali.  Tita Zeny shared with us the history of the place.

Here are the reasons why my family loves the place:

Fae:  “The animals are my favorite because they are funny, specially the cellphone-grabbing monkey. I think other children will also enjoy the ostrich, and its eggs!  Enjoy ako sa lecture ni Kuya Gil about the ostrich eggs.”

Fiona:  “Super funny yung fat chicken!  Nakakatawa rin yung big turtle na nagulat, nanlaki yung mata, at biglang nag-dive sa pond sa takot when it saw me.  I also like the swing made from rubber-tires, and the cute nipa huts. I love going up the big, big tree that fell because of the typhoon (Glenda).”

Daddy Nonong:  “Nakapanghihinayang yung natumbang century-old tree.  But it was a good idea to make it an added attraction sa farm.  We all had fun going up its trunk and huge branches.  When the kids asked bakit natumba yung napakalaking tree, it gave me a chance to explain to them the destruction that typhoons bring and the need to take care of the environment.  Na-relate nila sa Science at Sibika subjects nila.”

Fiana:  “I love the area where they hold events like weddings and other celebrations… ang ganda!  May small falls pa!  And of course, the yummy food sa Salo-Salo Restaurant.  Talagang it’s more fun in the Philippines!”
