Star for All Seasons Ate Vi reasoned out that the key to her having a well-balanced life, career, and happy family relations, is her desire to always connect the dots.
“Parang script sa movies or TV. May beginning, may middle, may conflicts, climax and ending.
As both an active government official and a highly-revered institution in the movie industry, her statements are always seen and considered as important and valuable. “Alam ninyo, all these years natanggap ko na iyan sa buhay. But you also have to remember na simpleng tao pa din naman ako, nagkakasakit, nasasaktan. Pero as I said, connecting the dots lang ang buhay. I don’t want to call it happy dahil may mga kalungkutan din naman, pero everything is part of it,” added Ate Vi.
Speaking of the NCCA’s Gawad ANI award, she was among the recipients of the prestigious award due to her winning as Best Actress in an international filmfest last year for her indie film EKSTRA. Many are saying that since it’s being handed over by the NCCA, that might be her easy ticket to the National Artist Award soon.
“That’s still a process… a long process to begin with. Sino ba naman ang hindi mag-aambisyon ng ganyan pero alam ko naman na mas marami pang dapat na mauna sa akin for such an honor. Darating din iyan in God’s time,” said Ate Vi.
During the same interview, Ate Vi repeated her desire for Luis to give her an apo, the only missing “bundle of joy” in their home, as she said.
She then addressed Luis and Angel, “Malapit na ba mga anak?”
